Pattern Drafting

Drafting on the Stand

Drafting on the mannequin is my preferred method of pattern cutting, working with measurements to create garments that work to each person.

I work with calico and paper to check and revise patterns.

Drafting from Existing Patterns

Some examples of when I have used pre-made patterns, from sources such as the Janet Arnold books or the Jean Hunnisett books, both using to scale, and scaling to accommodate different measurements.

Flat and Metric Pattern Drafting

Some examples of metric pattern cutting, using blocks to create historical patterns.

Flat drafting also used for creating simple, oversized garments.
