The Maker
I’m a recent graduate from the MA Design for Performance course at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, with a focus on costume making. My passions lie in period costuming, with historical authenticity being a particular interest of mine.
My work is founded on a love of research, leading me to pursue detail and accuracy in my making. I enjoy learning through practice and have developed various costume making skills including hand sewing, tailoring, corsetry and embroidery. Alongside making, I’m always eager to take on dressing and assistant work and value the chance to work collaboratively with other costume professionals.
While completing my MA, I’ve discovered a distinct love for 18th Century and Regency fashions – I’ve completed multiple making projects based in these periods, both with modern and historically authentic making techniques. Although these eras are particularly fascinating to me, I relish a challenge of any period or style, and I’m always excited to learn something new, both from other creatives and from research and practice.
